Schenkelberg is a municipality in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Selters (Westerwald) .

Schenkelberg is three kilometers from Herschbach and seven kilometers from Selters (Westerwald) . In the immediate vicinity is the Westerwald Lake District , a popular holiday and recreation area. The area offers numerous hiking and cycling trails.

Schenkelberg was first mentioned in 1219 as Schenkelenberg and has been using its current name since 1624 after several minor spelling changes.

The Herz-Jesu-Kirche dates from 1750.
