Moschheim is a municipality in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Wirges .

Geographical location

The local community is located north of Montabaur on Kannenbäckerstraße .

In the north of the municipality, the Malberg rises at 422  m above sea level. NHN one of the highest elevations in the vicinity.

history

Moschheim was first mentioned in a document in 1362.

religion

The vast majority of the population is Roman Catholic. In the village there is a Catholic branch church of the parish St. Bonifatius (Wirges), which belongs to the diocese of Limburg , the church bears the patronage of St. Paul . The approximately 150 Protestant Christians are looked after by the Evangelical Martin Luther Church Congregation in Wirges, which is part of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau .
