The community is located in the Westerwald between Koblenz and Siegen on the edge of the Kannenbäckerland . The community is located on the Masselbach . The Sonnenhof residential area also belongs to Hundsdorf .

The village was first mentioned in 1243 as Hunisdorp .

Culture and sights
Regular events
Up until 2012, a western camp of the Western Bund Germany was set up here between Ascension Day and Pentecost, in which the affiliated western and Indian clubs were able to experience the atmosphere of North American culture under authentic conditions for a few days. The western town that was built was called "Dog City" based on the Hundsdorf community.
The Hundsdorf fair takes place every year at the beginning of August .
Attractions
For several years now, bison have been bred at the Sonnenhof . The herd is kept on the outskirts and their products are marketed in the attached farm shop. The bison formed the perfect backdrop for the western camp.

- The A 48 with the Höhr-Grenzhausen junction (AS 12) is six kilometers away.
- The A 3 with the junction Ransbach-Baumbach (AS 38) is only five kilometers away.
- The community has a stop on the Engers – Au railway line, which is partly operated by tourism . The closest ICE stop is Montabaur train station on the Cologne – Rhein / Main high-speed line .
