Moravia is a municipality in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Wallmerod Association .

Geographical location

The community is located in the Westerwald between Montabaur and Westerburg . Moravia is a village residential community .

history

Moravia was first mentioned in a document as Mern in 1508 .

On May 1, 1969, together with the municipality of Elbingen, the municipality of Elbingen-Moravia was re-established, this was dissolved and the current municipalities of Elbingen and Moravia were re-established on January 1, 1994.

In the immediate vicinity of the village runs the federal highway 8 , which connects Limburg an der Lahn and Hennef (Sieg) . The next motorway junction is Montabaur on the A3 , about 13 kilometers away. The closest ICE stop is Montabaur train station on the Cologne – Rhein / Main high-speed line .
