Daubach is a municipality in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Montabaur community .
geography
The place is west of the federal highway 3 , five kilometers from Montabaur , in the slipstream of the Stelzenbachforstes, above the Gelbachtal and only seven kilometers from the Lahn valley with the bishop's city Limburg an der Lahn .
The Häusgesmühle residential area also belongs to Daubach .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1343.
Until the beginning of the 19th century, Daubach belonged to the right bank of the Rhine from Kurtrier , which was assigned to the Principality of Nassau-Weilburg as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 . After the formation of the Rhine Confederation , Daubach belonged to the Duchy of Nassau from 1806 . Under the Nassau administration, Daubach was assigned to the Nassau Office of Montabaur and until 1815 the administrative district Ehrenbreitstein , then the administrative district Wiesbaden .
According to statistics from the Duchy of Nassau from 1843, the Daubach community had 149 inhabitants who lived with 44 families in 32 houses. The residents were without exception Catholic.
In 1866 the Duchy of Nassau was annexed by Prussia . The municipality of Daubach became part of the Prussian province of Hessen-Nassau in 1867 and belonged to the newly formed Unterwesterwaldkreis . In 1946 the Daubach community became part of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .
Daubach is now a place of residence without any commercial settlement. The grocery store closed in 2000. The construction of our own chapel can be described as an outstanding achievement in the 1990s.

Municipal council
The council in Daubach consists of eight council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
mayor
Thorsten Hahn became the local mayor of Daubach in 2014. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for a further five years with a share of 98.58% of the votes.
Hahn's predecessor Raimund Hahn had held the office for 25 years.
