coat of arms

Coat of arms of Niedersayn
Blazon : “A left silver flank in blue. A silver mill wheel at the front and a red bell at the back, over two wavy strips that were confused with silver and red. "
Justification of the coat of arms: The tinging of the coat of arms is based on regional history. Silver and red were the colors of Kurtrier , red was also the coat of arms of the Counts of Diez . Blue refers to the temporary affiliation to the Duchy of Nassau . The silver mill wheel is a reminder of the great economic importance of the milling trade in the district, in which many mills can be identified since the 16th century. The red bell refers to the church in the district of Karnhöfen. The wavy ridges refer to the location on the eponymous little Saynbach .
