Heiligenroth coat of arms

On the coat of arms you can see a red watchtower with a silver background and a gold lion on a blue background.

Justification of the coat of arms: The defensive tower shown is still in Heiligenroth today. He used to stand alone while a small church stood apart. It was not until 1782 that today's church was added to the Romanesque tower. At that time the tower served as a defense tower, hence the loopholes and until 1975 belonged to the civil parish, while the church belonged to the parish. Only then did ownership of the tower pass to the parish. At the back, in blue, a golden lion should be shown so that it looks into the field.

The choice of Nassau colors has less to do with the brief political affiliation to Nassau (1802–1866), but rather aims more at the geographic location of Heiligenroth, which is still in the middle of Nassau today. The Nassau Nature Park begins in Heiligenroth , and the Bundeswehr soldiers stationed in Montabaur also wore the Nassau coat of arms, the golden lion in the blue field, on the left sleeve of their uniform.

Economy and Infrastructure

The place is in the Westerwald south of the A3 , directly at the motorway junction Montabaur . The industrial area belonging to the municipality is separate from the town center north of this motorway. In the course of the construction of the high-speed line Cologne – Rhine / Main , the place was protected by a noise protection wall. The so-called industrial area is characterized above all by the supply of the surrounding area with a wide range of services and shopping options such as supermarkets, hardware stores, furniture stores and petrol stations. Manufacturing companies can also be found there. Public facilities include a kindergarten, volunteer fire brigade , playgrounds, sports field with a home for athletes and a beach volleyball court, parish home, Vogelsang hall with bowling alley for large events, community administration with youth room, four tennis courts with clubhouse, and Catholic parish church.
