Stockhausen-Illfurth coat of arms
Blazon : “In gold over a lowered, blue wavy bar , in it three golden balls in stacks, in front a linden tree in natural colors, from a piece of branch a blue-silver water jet flowing to the left, behind a slightly bent, looking, red-robed lady with gold cuffs, collar and blue cloak in natural colors, wearinga red-blue-silver giver over a black hairnet, the right hand stretched out, holding the robe, in the left hand on the angled arm a blue book in gilt edging with a gold cross on it. "
The reason for the coat of arms: According to legend, the lady in red is the pious (book with cross) Ilse from Seck on her pilgrimage to the Marienquelle in Marienberg, where she found a ford (the three golden circles) over the Nister (blue wave bar) (Ilsenfurt). She refreshed herself at the stock fountain in Stockhausen (linden tree with blue-silver water jet).
