Weidenhahn (dialect: Wäirehohn ) is a municipality in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Selters (Westerwald) .
geography
Weidenhahn is located in the Westerwald between Hachenburg in the north, Westerburg in the east, Montabaur in the south and the Selters located about six kilometers west-southwest at the confluence of the Weidenbach and Steinchesbach rivers. It is located a little south-southeast of the Westerwald lakes plateau.
About two kilometers northeast of the village, there has been an observation tower on the Helleberg ( 491 m above sea level ) since 1998 with a view of the Westerwald, among other things.
history
Weidenhahn was first mentioned in documents around 1200 under the name Weidenhagen . Other names over the years are: Weidenhayn , Wedinhane , Weidinhan , Weidenhayn and Weidenhahn .

Municipal council
The council in Weidenhahn consists of twelve council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
In the local elections on May 25, 2014 , the local council was elected in a personalized proportional representation. The twelve seats were divided between two groups of voters .

The flag is cross-striped as a banner, hanging flag and vertical flag, the left and right flag hem is blue-white-blue-yellow-blue-white-blue in the ratio 4: 4: 100: 34: 47: 5.5: 5.5, dividing the yellow flag stripe (34) in the form of a bricked yellow arch, above a white ploughshare over two yellow willow branches (1: 2), below crossed white keys and sword, flag length to flag width as 200 to 100.
