geography
course
The Masselbach rises at the Montabaurer Höhe approx. 4 km northeast of the alarm pole (545 m). From here it flows to the northwest and runs, mostly piped , through the center of Ransbach, a district of Ransbach-Baumbach . Flowing further west, the brook goes through the municipality of Hundsdorf and then turns to the southwest. It reaches the northern part of the municipality of Hilgert and shortly thereafter becomes the border river between Hilgert and Alsbach . After Faulbach (district of Hilgert) it becomes the border between Kammerforst and Alsbach. In the south of Alsbach the brook passes the Grenzau train station and flows into the Brexbach as a right tributary in the municipality of Höhr-Grenzhausen before Grenzau .
