The Neue Seehütte (also Seehütte and Höllentaler Holzknechthütte ) is a refuge of the ÖTK and is located on the Rax high plateau at 1643 m above sea level. A. in the federal state of Lower Austria .
location
The Neue Seehütte is located at the foot of the Trinkstein saddle and west of the Preiner Wand.
history
In 1894 the old Seehütte was built on the Seeweg, at that time there was a lake next to the hut that drained away over time. In 1946, the municipality of Vienna no longer extended the lease agreement for the protection of the headwaters of the first Vienna high spring water pipeline and the hut had to be demolished. In 1950, the construction plan for a new lake hut was approved, which was then erected in the saddle west of the Schröckenfux cross, officially put into operation in 1954 and practically completed in 1956 . This hut still exists today with further additions and modifications.
The hut does not offer any overnight accommodation.
