history
Due to the water-rich location between Rax and Schneeberg , water was transported from here to Vienna as early as the 18th century . The first Viennese high spring water pipeline , built 1869–1873, also draws its water from Kaiserbrunn, later other springs such as those in Gußwerk or those at the foot of the Schneealpe were fed.

Today there is a museum about the high spring water pipeline in Kaiserbrunn , the Kaiserbrunn Water Pipeline Museum .
Hiking trails
From Kaiserbrunn you can reach the mountain station of the Rax cable car via the Brandschneide. The Brandschneide is a climb on the Rax that can be safely done by beginners. The top of the Schneeberg can be reached via the ascent to the Naturfreundehaus Knofeleben .
