The Harthenbach , also Harthebach , is a right tributary to the Wilden Weißeritz in the Tharandt forest near Somsdorf , Saxony .

course

The Harthenbach rises on the northwest slope of Viehweghöhe (405 m) on the borlas and Lübau boundary . It flows in its entire course in a north-westerly direction and after 70 m reaches the district of Somsdorf . To the west of Somsdorfer Höhe, the stream flows with a steep gradient through a narrow valley into the Tharandt forest and the Weißeritztalhang nature reserve. Below the Silent Love, the Harthenbach falls like a waterfall in its lower reaches into the Weißeritztal, this difficult to access section of the valley is also known as the Harthenbach Falls . After 1.3 km, the Harthenbach flows into the Wilde Weißeritz opposite the old raft wood disposal point Bellmanns Los at the railway bridge .

The Oberleitenweg leads from the Waldblick refuge on the Stille Liebe rock cliff via a staircase down to the Harthenbach; then the hiking trail runs approx. 350 m upstream through the middle Harthengrund before continuing over the Leite to Edle Krone.

The steep slopes on the lower course of the brook are characterized by rich footprints and exposed rock cliffs with pines and blueberries.
