Hartmannus Hartmanni the Younger (* 1523 in Heidelberg ; † May 16, 1586 ) was assessor at the Imperial Court of Justice in Speyer and counsel for three Palatine electors.

Life

Hartmannus was the son of the Palatinate Chancellor Hartmannus Hartmanni the elder of the Hartmanni family . He grew up at the courts of the Count Palatine in Neumarkt and Amberg and studied at the universities in Ingolstadt , and from 1540 law in Tübingen and Heidelberg . From 1546 he was at the University of Bologna , where he obtained his doctorate in both rights in 1547 . In 1549 he became a member of the Electoral Palatinate Council of Friedrich II. In 1555 he was raised to the rank of Count Palatine by Emperor Karl V , and in 1556 he was appointed assessor at the Imperial Court in Speyer . In 1567 he was court judge to Friedrich III. in Heidelberg, received a seat in the local upper council and became Faut (Vogt) of the upper office in Bretten , where he took up residence. In 1569 he was also appointed head of the Heidelberg Oberamt. After the death of Friedrich III. Hartmanni mediated between his sons and successors Ludwig VI. and Johann Casimir . Hartmanni kept his offices in the Electoral Palatinate even during the rapid change of faith . One of his particular merits is his collaboration in drawing up the court court order from 1573 and the state order and land law from 1583. In addition, in 1570 he published the documents published by his father Hartmannus Hartmanni d. Ä. Collection of legal opinions Practicarum observationum compiled with Bernhard Wurmser and compiled a prince's mirror in 1573 . He died in 1586 and was buried in the Heiliggeistkirche in Heidelberg.

He was married to Patricia and had two daughters, Anna and Anna Maria. His grandchildren from Anna's marriage with Vollprecht Sturm von Werden received the scholarship donated by his namesake Hartmannus Hartmanni at the University of Heidelberg in 1593 .
