The Hartmanni were a family of jurists from a family of councilors from Eppingen .

The town councilor and town school authorities named Beger or Becker can be traced for the first time with Heinrich Beger, mentioned in 1334, in Eppingen. The first to change his name from Becker to Hartmanni was Andreas Hartmanni around 1448, later rector of Heidelberg University. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the family produced five well-known lawyers. They held the highest offices at the University of Heidelberg , at the court of the Count Palatine of the Upper Palatinate and Elector of the Electoral Palatinate, and as canons in Heidelberg and Strasbourg :

The relationships between the five important Hartmanni are only partially known. What is certain is that Rector Andreas is the father of Chancellor Hartmannus, who in turn is the father of the Appeal Court Assessor Hartmannus. The exact relationship of the two canons Andreas and Hartmannus to each other and to the aforementioned is unknown. However, the brotherhood of Hartmanni of the same name is excluded.

The Hartmanni-Gymnasium in Eppingen is named after the family .
