Hartmut Heinrich Wilhelm Ebbing (born May 13, 1956 in Berlin-Lankwitz ) is a German auditor and tax advisor, politician ( FDP ) and a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 . Since January 2018 he has also been the cultural policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group.

Professional background

After graduating from Beethoven-Gymnasium in Lankwitz in 1975 , Ebbing completed an apprenticeship in banking and then began studying business administration at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Illinois , USA , from which he graduated in 1984 with a degree in business administration. In parallel to his studies, Ebbing worked for the Berliner Bank . From 1984 to 1991 he worked for the auditing company KPMG in Frankfurt am Main , Hamburg and Berlin and also passed the tax advisor and auditor exam during this time . Ebbing has been an independent business consultant and tax auditor since 1992.

Political career

Ebbing joined the FDP in 1995 and was active in various functions, including as chairman of the state committee for cultural policy of the FDP Berlin until March 2018 .

For the 2017 federal election , Ebbing ran for the FDP in the Berlin-Steglitz - Zehlendorf constituency and was elected to the 19th German Bundestag via third place on the FDP state list . His main subjects are culture , taxes and the middle class . In the Bundestag he is a full member of the Media and Culture Committee and a deputy member of the Petitions Committee and the Finance Committee .

Private

Ebbing is a Protestant , single and the father of three children. He lives in Berlin Lichterfelde-Ost .
