Gerhard Hartmut Götzel (born November 8, 1956 in Mildenau ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Hartmut Götzel visited the POS in Jöhstadt and then trained as an optician in Annaberg-Buchholz . In 1977 and 1978 he did his military service in Erfurt . Between 1978 and 1981 Götzel attended the technical college for ophthalmic optics in Jena , graduating as an optometrist . From 1985 to 1989 he took distance learning theological courses in the ecclesiastical province of Saxony , which he completed with an exam in 1989. Study visits to France followed in 1992 and 1994. Until 2017 he owned two optician shops: one in the center of Annaberg-Buchholz and one in Sehma .

Götzel is Evangelical Lutheran, married for the second time and has five children.

In 1990 Hartmut Götzel was co-editor of a regional weekly newspaper, the Annaberger Wochenblatt, which was discontinued in 1991 and revived in 2011 as the online daily Annaberger Wochenblatt . About the democratic awakening he was interested in political work. Götzel has been a member of the CDU since 1991 and was press spokesman for the district CDU. In 1993 and 1994 he was district chairman and from 1992 a member of the CDU's state committee for social affairs. He was also Deputy Chairman of the European Union in Annaberg .

In November 1995 Götzel succeeded Dieter Reinfried in the Saxon state parliament. In the following third electoral period he entered the state parliament in 1999 via the state list of the CDU Saxony . He was deputy chairman of the petitions committee and a member of the committee for building, housing and transport. He then resigned from the Saxon state parliament in 2004. From 1999 to 2019 he was a member of the city council of the large district town of Annaberg-Buchholz and from 2009 was parliamentary group leader of the CDU. Since 2004 also a member of the district council of the district Annaberg. In the district council elections on June 8, 2008, Hartmut Götzel was elected to the district council of the Erzgebirgskreis for the 2008-2014 legislative period .
