Hartmut Schneider

Hartmut Schneider (born February 22, 1937 in Speyer ) is a professor of psychotherapeutic medicine .

biography

Schneider's parents were doctors and he also has two brothers. As a student at the humanistic grammar school in Speyer, he passed his Abitur there in 1956.

This was followed by studying medicine in Lausanne , Freiburg im Breisgau , Munich , Vienna and Heidelberg . He passed his medical state examination in 1962. This was followed by his doctorate in 1963 . He wrote his habilitation in the field of neuropathology in 1972. He then received a C3 professorship with a scientific focus on coma , brain death and experimental models of pathology of the spinal cord. In 1980 Schneider completed his specialist training in neurology and psychiatry .

From 1980 to 1985 he was senior physician , department head and university professor at the Central Institute for Mental Health Mannheim (Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg ). From 1985 to 2002 he was also the head physician at the Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics in Freudenstadt .

Schneider has been a neurologist and psychotherapist in his own practice as well as a group analyst since 2002. In addition, he is the medical director of the Hohenfreudenstadt Clinic and consultant doctor of the Wittichen Clinic (drug withdrawal) and the Wiesengrund rehabilitation facility (BWLV, formerly drug help in Tübingen). Since 1990, he has been the honorary chairman and scientific director of the Freudenstadt Psychotherapy Seminar (interrupted between 2004 and 2006), board member of the Freudenstadt aid community The Staircase , board member of the SPD local association Freudenstadt and finally city councilor of the SPD parliamentary group of the Freudenstadt municipal council.
