Haruka Kitaguchi ( Japanese 北 口 榛 花 , Kitaguchi Haruka ; born March 16, 1998 in Asahikawa ) is a Japanese javelin thrower .
Athletic career
Haruka Kitaguchi gained her first international experience at international championships in 2015 at the Youth World Championships in Cali , where she won the gold medal with a new high of 60.38 m. A year later she qualified for the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , where she finished eighth in the final with 52.15 m. In 2017 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei , where she was tenth with a width of 56.30 m. Two years later she won the silver medal behind the Lithuanian Liveta Jasiūnaitė at the Student World Games in Naples with 60.15 m . Then she took part in the World Championships in Doha and was eliminated there with 60.84 m in qualification .
Kitaguchi became the Japanese javelin throwing champion in 2019.
