Liveta Jasiūnaitė (born July 26, 1994 in Rokiškis ) is a Lithuanian javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Liveta Jasiūnaitė played her first international tournament at the 2011 World Youth Championships near Lille , where she was eliminated with 46.32 m in qualification. Then she won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon with 52.00 m. The following year she took part in the Junior World Championships in Barcelona and was eighth there with 53.00 m in the final. 2013 followed a ninth place at the Junior European Championships in Rieti . Two years later she won the bronze medal behind the Germans Christin Hussong and Kateryna Derun from Ukraine at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 55.77 m .

In 2016 she qualified for the first time for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she finished twelfth with 53.94 m in the final. The following year she took part in the World Championships in London for the first time and was eliminated there with 55.80 m in qualification . A few weeks later, she finished seventh at the World Student Games in Taipei with 57.25 m. In 2018 she again took part in the European Championships in Berlin , where she won the bronze medal with a new personal best of 61.61 m. In June 2019 Jasiūnaitė set a new Lithuanian record with 63.98 m and took eighth place the following week at the European Games in Minsk with 59.38 m. Then she won the Summer Universiade in Naples with 60.36 m. She qualified for the World Championships in Doha at the end of September, where she did not reach the final with 56.90 m .

In 2013 and between 2016 and 2019, Jasiūnaitė became the Lithuanian javelin throwing champion. She is a student at the Lithuanian Sports University in Kaunas .
