The Hatz Moninger Brauerei GmbH is a brewery in Karlsruhe district Grünwinkel that today majority owned by the family Scheidtweiler located. Along with the Hoepfner private brewery, it is one of the two industrial breweries in Karlsruhe.

history

Stephan Moninger received on December 16, 1856 “the license to serve his self-brewed beer” . The Moninger brewery was based in Weststadt (Karlsruhe) for almost 100 years (1888–1980 ) . Then the brewery moved to the current site of the Sinner Brewery, which was taken over in 1974 . Moninger was a sponsor of the Karlsruher SC from 1983 to 1985 .

On May 1, 2010, the merger of the Moninger AG brewery with the Hatz AG Hofbrauerei from Rastatt , which had existed there since 1863, was sealed by a company lease and purchase agreement . Since then, the brewing business has been transferred to Hatz-Moninger Brauhaus GmbH. The Hatz brewhouse was dismantled and the brewing vessels installed in a new brewhouse. This cost 3.4 million euros and was built within eight months at the central office in Grünwinkel.

In 2018 the brewery was sold to the Scheidtweiler family by the previous owner, STINAG Stuttgart Invest. The family also owns the Franz brewery in Rastatt , Palmbräu in Eppingen and the brewery in Pforzheim .
