description

The area of the manor house and the surrounding park extends in a north-south extension of about 275 m and in a west-east direction of a good 150 m in the area between Werimboldstrasse , Kurler Strasse and Greveler Strasse . Not end of the 19th century consisted of a two-part system that by moats was surrounded, which from the west via a secondary tributary of the Old Körne , a tributary of the Körne Bach were fed. At that time (1895) there were still two buildings on the southern part of the site, an L-shaped manor house and a commercial building. The buildings were said to be insignificant. After a fire in 1905, the still existing two-storey building was erected in its place, which has only been in ruins since another fire in October 2010. As a result, there was extensive clearing of the trees in the surrounding park area, which was still around 5000 m² in size. South of Werimboldstraße is the Catholic parish church of St. Johannes Baptist (built 1733 to 1738), which, according to an inscription from 1733 on the south side, gave the owner of Haus Kurl, Johann Adolph von Recke auf Heessen , the right of patronage exercised.
