House Meier

The house Meier in Bremen , district of Horn-Lehe , district Horn , Horner Heerstraße 7, was created in 1869, designed by architect H. Basselmann. This building has been a listed building in Bremen since 1999 .

history

The representative, classical , plastered, two-storey villa with a hipped roof and two gable triangles ( tympanum ) was built in 1869 in the era of historicism for the Bremen mayor , senator and lawyer Johann Daniel Meier . He was President of the Senate in 1863, 1865, 1868 and 1870. Meier died in 1871 just two years after the house was built. The relief of the family coat of arms is in one of the gable triangles.
The country house of Hieronymus Klugkist (1750) or Focke / Fritze (1820), known as the Borgward Villa , stood or stands next to the house .

The remodeling of 1930 was in the hands of the architect Rudolph Leymann in the Wilhelm Blanke office and the remodeling of 1959 by architect Rudolf Lodders . According to Meier u. a. Merchant Emil Plate (around 1884), the Schütte family (around 1930), the Borgward family (around 1958).
Currently (2017) the house is used for business purposes and for music lessons.
