Haute-Kotto ( German  Oberkotto ) is a prefecture of the Central African Republic with the capital Bria .

geography

The prefecture is located in the east of the country and borders in the north with the prefecture Vakaga , in the north-east with the south Sudan , in the east with the prefecture Haut-Mbomou , in the south with the prefecture Mbomou , in the south-west with the prefecture Basse-Kotto , in the west Ouaka Prefecture and to the northwest to Bamingui-Bangoran Prefecture .

In the north of the province lies the Bongo massif , where the province's largest river, the Kotto , has its source. The highest mountain in the province is the 1113 meter high Mont Aburassain on the border with Sudan.
