Head Automatica

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Head Automatica is a band of the power pop genre that was founded in 2004 by Glassjaw -Frontmann Daryl Palumbo .

history

The beginnings of the band resulted from singer Daryl Palumbo's interests in hip-hop and rock. Since this did not fit into the Glassjaw spectrum, Head Automatica was created.

The band's debut album, Decadence, was released on August 17, 2004. The album was developed by Palumbo with Dan "The Automator" Nakamura , known for his work with groups such as the Gorillaz and Handsome Boy Modeling School . Palumbo recruited the other current members as a backing band, toured the US [2], and played with bands such as Interpol , The Rapture , Mogwai and The Used .

The band released their second album, Popaganda, on June 6, 2006. While Nakamura was developing the debut album, this album was produced by Howard Benson, known for his collaboration with alternative metal acts such as POD and Cold . When Nakamura left the band, they got a more organic and classic power-pop style.

The Pop Rocks EP was released on April 6, 2006 and included four tracks from the upcoming album: Graduation Day, God, Nowhere Fast, and Laughing At You.

In the same year the band toured the US with Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed and Cambria and joined their Taking Back Sunday , Angels & Airwaves and The Subways tour for a month . The band also made a tour with Rock Kills Kid , but decided to cancel it after a few days of play. Instead, she supports 30 Seconds to Mars on the MTV2 $ 2 Bill Tour along with The Receiving End of Sirens , Cobra Starship and Rock Kills Kid. In early 2007, Head Automatica played with Jack's Mannequin , We Are The Fury , and theAudition, with direct support from The West Coast Winter Tour .

Palumbo mentioned in an interview in the January issue of Alternative Press magazine that the third Head Automatica album would be released in summer 2008. Since then there has been little information about the development of the third album.
