Hearne is a city in Robertson County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in east Texas on US Highways 79 and 190 in the southwest of the county and has a total area of ​​10.6 km 2 with no significant water surface.

history

Around 1840 a Code Brown built a tavern on the site of the present city, which served as a stagecoach stop for travelers between Houston and Port Sullivan . At the same time, the tavern served as a general store and post office. The place was named after Christopher C. Hearne , a cotton plantation owner in the area.
