Harker Heights is a city in Bell County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

geography

The city is located a little southeast of the geographic center of Texas on US Highway 190 in the west of the county and has a total area of ​​33.0 km² without any significant water surface.

The place was named after Harley Kern , one of the two landowners who made the land available for the place.

According to the 2000 census, 17,308 people lived here in 6,200 households and 4,712 families. The population density was 523.7 inhabitants per km ².
