Nolanville is a city with a status of " City " in Bell County in the state of Texas in the United States with 4434 inhabitants (2012).

geography

The city is located on Nolan Creek and borders directly on Killeen in the east and Belton in the west . Temple is 25 kilometers east and Waco is 75 kilometers northeast. The US Highway 190 runs through the southern districts of Nolanville.

history

The city on Nolan Creek was most likely named after the globetrotter Philip Nolan and was one of the first settlements in Bell County. In 1850 46 people lived there. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway ran through the town and attracted more people. A real boom, however, the city experienced only in the late 1960s with the expansion of the military base of Fort Hood .

Today, Nolanville is a quiet residential area, especially for young families and members of soldiers from nearby Fort Hood.

In 2012 a population of 4434 people was determined, which corresponds to an increase of 106.2% compared to the year 2000. This means that the population has more than doubled within 12 years. The mean age at this point in time was 28.7 years, below the value of Texas, which was 30.8 years. 18.0% of today's residents can be traced back to immigrants from Germany.
