history
The band was founded in 2010 by singer and guitarist Maja Linn Samuelsson. A short time later, bassist Sara Frendin and drummer Astrid Carsbring joined them. The name comes from the song "Heavy Tiger" by the Finnish band The Flaming Sideburns . Heavy Tiger played numerous concerts in Sweden, Spain and as a support act for Imperial State Electric in Finland.
In the winter of 2013, the band released the 7 "single Talk of the Town on the Spanish record label Ghost Highway Records . The musicians then recorded their own debut album Saigon Kiss , which was produced by Fred Estby . Eventually Heavy Tiger was signed to the German record label High Roller Records . Saigon Kiss was released on February 28, 2014.
In the summer of 2015, the band first appeared on Swedish television as part of the Sommarkrysset show . A year later Heavy Tiger released the EP Devil May Care , before the second studio album Glitter was released on March 24, 2017 via the Soundpollution Records label. In October 2019, the band announced their breakup, as all members have different priorities.
style
Heavy Tigers play a mix of 1970s hard rock and rock 'n' roll . Sara Frendin named in an interview with the German magazine rock hard bands such as Thin Lizzy , AC / DC , the Rolling Stones and The Who as musical influences.
