Hedeviken is a place ( småort ) in the historical province (landskap) Härjedalen and the province Jämtlands län . Hedeviken belongs to the municipality of Härjedalen . The place is halfway between Hede and Vemdalen at Riksväg 84.
Hedeviken is located on Lake Vikarsjön, through which the Ljusnan flows. The population development is declining - until 1980 Hedeviken was still a crime scene .
The Sveg – Hede railway connection with a train station in Hedeviken, opened in 1924, was shut down in 1966. To the east of the place, at Länsväg 315, which branches off in the direction of Vemdalen , is the small Hedlanda airport, which was inaugurated in 1970 and has been operated by a local association since 2007 and is not used for regular flight operations.
