Heide Wollert

Heide Wollert (born May 16, 1982 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German judoka ( 4th Dan ).

Heide Wollert is a sports student at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . She has been active since 1990 and starts for the JC Leipzig . Before that she was active at SV Halle , where she was trained by Frank Hölperl and Norbert Littkopf , before that she competed for the HSG Wissenschaft Halle .

First she competed in the class up to 70 kilograms. In 1997 she was able to become German champion in the U17 age group. In total, she came in the medal ranks seven times in different age groups at German and international German championships. It has been running in parallel since 1999, and since 2002 exclusively in the elite sector. In 2001 Wollert was German runner-up and third at the international German championships (IDM). The following year she repeated the placement at the IDM. The following year she achieved her first international success by winning the Vice European Championship and was again German champion (DM). In 2004 she won the national title for the third time, was third at the international German championships and won bronze with the team at the student world championships. In 2005 she won the German Championships and a World Cup competition in Hamburg for the fourth time . In 2006 Wollert was able to exceed these results. She was again vice European champion, vice student world champion and student world champion with the team.

Because she had a strong opponent in Germany in Annett Böhm who would probably have been preferred to the Olympic Games, Wollert switched to the class up to 78 kilograms at the suggestion of the national coach. Here she quickly had successes. In 2007 she was fifth at the European Championships and took part in the World Championships. In 2008 she finally won the title of European champion in Lisbon against the Russian Vera Moskaljuk . So she was also qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing . There she was able to take seventh place in the class up to 78 kg. At the European Championships in 2009 , she finished third. In Rotterdam she finished third at the 2009 Judo World Championships after three victories against Galeone, Cotton and Lebrun .

In 2010 Wollert reached fifth place at the World Championships in Tokyo , and came second at the World Team Championships in Antalya . At the 2011 World Championships in Paris , she again finished fifth. At her second Olympic Games in London , she finished ninth. She continued to fight at an international level until 2014, when she ended her career with a third place in the Grand Slam in Baku . After her career she became a trainer and became a U-21 trainer for the Saxon Association.
