Life

Childhood, education, family

Heidi Rosenstock grew up in Malkomes in the Bad Hersfeld district and in Bad Hersfeld. The father was a primary school teacher and cantor. She had two brothers who died in the war in 1942 and 1944.

In 1954, Heidi Rosenstock began to study biology in Frankfurt am Main . She was unable to complete a dissertation that had already started for family reasons. She was married since 1954 with Dr. Günter Rosenstock, later professor of botany at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. She has four daughters and lives in Schwalbach am Taunus .

activities

In 1981 she trained as a preacher ; from 1982 to 1985 she qualified as a community and organizational consultant. Since this additional training was previously reserved for theologians , she was the first non-theologian of the EKHN to achieve this qualification. For 25 years she advised church councils , parishes , pastors and church institutions.

From 1974 to 1986 she was a member of the church council of the Protestant community in Schwalbach am Taunus. From 1986 to 1998 she was Synodal of the Church Parliament of the EKHN and worked there in the Theological and Designation Committees. In 1996 she founded the Association for the Promotion of Feminist Theology in Research and Teaching, which awards grants for doctorates and post- doctoral qualifications on feminist theology . In addition, the association has been awarding the Leonore Siegele Wenschkewitz Prize for Feminist Theology since 2001 .

From 1999 to 2004, Heidi Rosenstock was a member of the EKHN church leadership and was therefore involved in many decisions within the regional church. In her function as a member of the church leadership, she sat down together with the provost Helga Trösken and the then church president Dr. Peter Steinacker for the Biblical in Just Language (BigS) project and, by taking over the management, helped to establish a Biblical for the New Millennium Project Unit that was set up from 2001 to 2006 - the testaments in just language at the Evangelical Academy Arnoldshain, which was conducted with Pastor Hanne Köhler was occupied.

For many years, Heidi Rosenstock wrote radio devotions for the Hessischer Rundfunk , wrote liturgical texts and was the editor of theological-feminist literature.
