Heidrun Hesse

Heidrun Hesse (born July 14, 1951 in Wittdün on Amrum ; † January 25, 2007 in Wyk on Föhr ) was a German philosopher .

Life

Heidrun Hesse studied at the University of Tuebingen first Protestant Theology , then philosophy , German literature and education to become a teacher. In 1984 she received her doctorate in philosophy in Tübingen. From 1988 to 1993 she worked as a research assistant with a teaching position at the University of Tübingen and also held teaching positions at other universities. In 1994/95 she represented the professorship “Ethics in the Biosciences” at the University of Tübingen. After her habilitation in 1998 in Tübingen, she was a private lecturer there and taught as a visiting and substitute professor at the TU Darmstadt and at the universities in Ulm , Kassel and Marburg . Her main areas of focus were the theory of rationality , epistemology , philosophy of science , theory of action , ethics and social philosophy .

Most recently, she worked on a monograph with the working title Causality - Hermeneutic Studies on the Meaning of an Experimental Concept” . Heidrun Hesse died of cancer at the age of 55.
