Heike Schaefer (born June 14, 1957 in Munich ) is a German sculptor . After studying graphic design at the Munich University of Applied Sciences (today Munich University of Applied Sciences ), she studied sculpture at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts , with Leo Kornbrust among others .

Life

After studying graphic design (1976–1980) and sculpture (1981–1987) as a master class student, both of which she graduated with diplomas, Heike Schaefer exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1988 on the occasion of Debutanten '88 and received a grant from the Free State of Bavaria. She gained her first international experience in 1990 at an exhibition at the Japan Metallic Formative Art Institute , and in 1992 she received the Botho Graef Prize from the city of Jena. After their marriage in 1997 and the birth of their daughter in 1998, she was awarded the City of Augsburg Art Prize in 1999 for her contribution to the exhibition Hommage à Franz Kafka . In 2006 she accepted an invitation to Gwalior in India as part of the International Sculptors Symposium . In 2007/2008 she accepted the invitation of the Harmony Art Foundation in Knowledge City, Mumbai, to participate in the International Sculpture & Painting Residency . In 2011 she received 1st prize at the 33rd International Hollfeld Art Exhibition . Heike Schaefer lives and works in Munich.
