Heiko Bewermeyer

Heiko Bewermeyer (born December 22, 1940 in Neustrelitz ) is a German specialist in neurology .

Life

After graduating from high school at the humanistic grammar school Marianum in Warburg and completing military service, Heiko Bewermeyer studied at the universities of Munich , Vienna and Hamburg .

He was trained as a specialist in psychiatric departments at the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf , clinics of the Rhineland Regional Association and at the Neurological Clinic Cologne Merheim . He received his doctorate from the University of Düsseldorf . He received the Venia legendi at the University of Cologne, where he was Senior Consultant in the Department of Neurology . In 1993 he was appointed adjunct professor of neurology and psychiatry.

From 1988 to 1994 he led the neurological clinic at the Leverkusen Clinic and from 1994 to 2005 he was chief physician at the neurological clinic in Cologne Merheim. Even after 2005 he remained practically neurological. His areas of interest are clinical neurology including its border areas and the history of neurology . He is also the author of regional and historical publications.

Heiko Bewermeyer has been married since 1975 and has two children.
