Heiko Brestrich (born April 8, 1965 ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach. He plays in the position of Libero .

Athletic career

Heiko Brestrich comes from the junior division of the BFC Dynamo . He did not make the leap into the league team of Berlin straight away, the result was a move to GDR league club Dynamo Fürstenwalde in 1983 . After two seasons, the defender returned to BFC Dynamo.

Despite his relatively few appearances for the BFC Dynamo, Brestrich won four GDR championships with the BFC and the FDGB Cup once . In 1988 he moved to league competitor BSG Stahl Brandenburg , then to the second division Motor Ludwigsfelde . At the time of the fall of the Wall, Brestrich first joined Rotation Berlin , and later the CS Grevenmacher . From 1991 he played again for FC Berlin, for which he played a total of 266 (57 goals) appearances until 1999. After a revolt against coach Klaus Goldbach , Brestrich was suspended from Dynamo in 1999 , which resulted in a move to VfB Leipzig . After the bankruptcy of VfB Brestrich played in 2002 at SG LVB Leipzig and then ended his career as a player.

He has been a trainer at Kickers 94 Markkleeberg since 2013 .
