Holy Spirit Church in Balingen

The Catholic parish church Heilig Geist in Balingen , the district town of the Zollernalb district in Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1898/99 according to plans by the architect Ulrich Pohlhammer from Stuttgart . The neo-Gothic church at Heilig-Geist-Kirchplatz 1 (formerly Paulinenstrasse 1) is a protected cultural monument .

The church originally consisted of a nave with a polygonal closed choir in the east and a choir flank tower.

The nave was opened to the north and merged inside with the extension by Martin Schilling from Rottenburg am Neckar in the 1950s to form a spatial unit. The old choir with leaded glass windows by August Blepp serves as a side chapel. The new concrete glass windows come from Albert Birkle from Salzburg

The interior was redesigned in 1998/99 with concentric seating and a new altar .
