The Roman Catholic Parish Church of the Holy Trinity is the village church of Saal an der Saale in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Saal an der Saale and is registered under the number D-6-73-160-13 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Saal an der Saale is part of the parish community "Um den Findelberg".

history

Saal an der Saale became an independent parish in 1598 under Prince Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn . The church used to have the patronage of the Assumption . The church choir was built between 1450 and 1470. The church tower and nave were built as a post-Gothic building in 1607. In the years 1885 to 1886, the nave was extended to the west in the neo-Gothic style. In 1975 and 1976 two side aisles were added .

Description and equipment

The nave is extended to the south and north by two side aisles with a pent roof. The choir tower with ogival sound windows and an onion hood merges into the eastern five-eighth choir closure . There is a late Gothic sacrament niche in the choir . The interior of the church is neo-Gothic. At the high altar is Trinity shown to the side altars figures can be seen of the Virgin Mary (right) and St. Joseph (left). The pulpit is decorated with figures of the four evangelists . The ringing consists of four bells. They are tuned D sharp, F sharp, G sharp and A sharp (deepened).
