The Heimberg near Wolfshagen in the Harz Mountains is 352.5 m above sea level. NHN high elevation of the west Harz in the unincorporated area of Harz in the district of Goslar , Lower Saxony .
Geographical location
The Heimberg is located within the Upper Harz in the western part of the Harz Nature Park . It is located northeast of the village of the Grane influx Töllebach situated Wolf Hagen in the resin between the 2 km west lying Innerstestausee and the km south-east located approximately 2.3 Granestausee .
Quarry and hiking
To the east of the Heimberg summit there is an abandoned diabase quarry, in whose pits a lake landscape has formed. On the approximately 3.3 km long circular path around the quarry, the Heimbergsweg , or on the branch paths, there are several viewpoints from which the view of rocks and lakes falls; a branch path leads to the panoramic viewpoint near Wolfshagen. The Heimberg is included as No. 109 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin; the stamp box ( ⊙ ) is at a lookout point north above the quarry.
