Heinrich Dahlinger (born October 30, 1922 in Kiel ; † February 2, 2008 in Rendsburg ) was a German entrepreneur who, as an athlete, was twice world champion in field handball , once vice world champion in indoor handball and once unofficial world champion (" gold cup ") in folk boat - Was sailing. Generally he is referred to as Hein Dahlinger or given his nickname Hein Daddel .

Sports career

Dahlinger joined the handball club THW Kiel at the age of 14 , in which he only played his last game 30 years later. In a total of 1871 games for THW Kiel, he scored 5423 goals. In 1948 and 1950 Dahlinger and his club became German field handball champions, in 1957 , 1962 and 1963 German indoor handball champions - a total of five German handball champions . Dahlinger received his first appointment to the DHB national team in 1951. For winning the German championship in 1950 and the world championship in 1952, Dahlinger was each honored with the silver laurel leaf . In 2007 he was awarded the Andreas Gayk Medal by the city of Kiel “for his exceptional services to handball in Kiel and in Germany” .
