Heinz Kördell (born January 8, 1932 in Wanne-Eickel , † October 2, 2020 ), also called "Heiner", was a German football player . He was German champion with FC Schalke 04 in 1958 .

Career

Kördell, son of a miner , was considered a real " squire ". He started playing football at SpVgg Röhlinghausen and was promoted to the first team of the sports club from the Herne district in 1950 .

In 1956 he was signed by the upper division FC Schalke 04 . Two years later he won the West German championship as an attacking midfielder (at the time called a half-striker ) and on May 18, 1958, the club’s last German championship.
