Heinrich Bednar
Heinrich Bednar (born June 30, 1922 , † December 17, 2000 in Sollenau ) was an Austrian table tennis player . He played after the annexation of Austria to Germany twice successful in the German Championships. After 1945 he was Austrian champion several times.
Career
Like Trude Pritzi , Heinrich Bednar successfully took part in the German championships after the annexation of Austria to Germany. He was twice German champion in doubles and once in mixed. After the war he played for Austria again. In 1947 and 1948 he took third place with the Austrian team at the world championships. He was also Austrian champion in the individual in 1949. In addition, he won the Austrian championship three times in doubles and once in mixed.
In 1957 Bednar ended his active career.
Private
Heinrich Bednar earned his living as a postal worker. With his wife Edith he had a son (Karl, born March 28, 1953)
