Heinrich Brandt (theologian)

Heinrich Brandt (born July 22, 1886 in Lehe , † December 31, 1970 in Hildesheim ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian and state superintendent of the Osnabrück-Diepholz district of the Hanoverian regional church .

Life

Brandt was ordained on January 16, 1916 in Schirmeck (Alsace) and served first as a military chaplain, then as a chaplain. In 1919 he became pastor in Düderode and in 1925 at the Neustädter Hof- und Stadtkirche St. Johannis in Hanover. In 1932 he came to Georgsmarienhütte as pastor and superintendent before he was appointed by regional bishop August Marahrens in 1936 as the first regional superintendent for the newly created district of Osnabrück-Diepholz. On January 1, 1955, he retired.

Awards

Brandt was the recipient of the Great Federal Cross of Merit .
