Heinrich Carl Wilhelm Abich

Heinrich Carl Wilhelm Abich (born December 4, 1772 in Braunschweig , † March 20, 1844 ) was a German mining official .

Life

Heinrich Carl Wilhelm Abich was the son of the Brunswick mining clerk and leaseholder of the Schöningen saltworks, Rudolf Adam Abich (1738–1809).

He attended the Anna-Sophianeum in Schöningen until 1790 and studied at the University of Göttingen from 1791 . He then became an assessor at the Mining and Huts Department in Berlin.

Abich was the leaseholder of the Schöningen saltworks from 1806 to 1840 and was named a mountain ridge during this time . He lived in the director's house built by his father and set up a soda, iron and vitriol factory on the saline property in 1825. In 1830 he also set up a soda soap factory.

Heinrich Abich had been married to Johanna Wilhelmine, nee Klaproth, since October 11, 1809, the daughter of the chemist Martin Heinrich Klaproth . The mineralogist, geologist and explorer Hermann von Abich was the couple's son.
