Heinrich Dringenberg

Heinrich Dringenberg (* 1630 in Rostock ; † April 3, 1687 ibid) was a German philosopher, headmaster and librarian.

Life

Heinrich Dringenberg studied at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Rostock and received his master's degree there in 1654. In the same year he became a council professor of morality, and after 1666 Johann Sibrand was his successor . From 1666 to 1687 he was ducal professor of Christian catechesis and the Hebrew language . In addition, he was rector of the Rostock city school from 1654 to 1659 . He was elected dean of the Faculty of Arts twelve times and rector of the university four times. From 1673 to 1680 he was the librarian of the Academic Library. In 1678 Dringenberg was proposed and designated as rector of the Fridericianum in Schwerin . The appointment failed due to wage demands and questions about the external position of the school.
