Heinrich Droms

Heinrich Droms (born September 27, 1887 in Minden , † March 31, 1965 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Heinrich Droms attended elementary school and did an apprenticeship as a lathe operator and machine fitter . From 1905 he worked as a lathe operator and later as a foreman and foreman, including at a Berlin transport operator. In 1907 he joined the German Metalworkers' Association (DMV) and in 1914 the SPD. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933, Droms was dismissed from the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) for political reasons.

After the Second World War , Droms became a member of the provisional municipal council in Wildau near Berlin in 1945 . In the first Berlin election in 1946 , he was elected to the district assembly in the Wedding district. From 1948 he was the chairman of the BVG works council . In February 1949, Walter Röber resigned from the city ​​council of Greater Berlin because he was the district mayor of Wedding, which enabled Droms to move up to parliament. In the following election in 1950 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In 1954 he resigned from parliament for reasons of age.
