Heinrich Gerlach (politician)
Heinrich Gerlach (born January 29, 1846 in Paderborn , † October 14, 1928 in Münster ) was a German physician and politician of the Center Party .
Gerlach attended high school in his hometown. He then studied medicine in Münster, Greifswald and Marburg . He received his doctorate in 1870 before he took part in the Franco-Prussian War as an assistant doctor. After the state examination in 1871 he worked as an assistant doctor in the provincial hospital in Marsberg . Between 1878 and 1911 Gerlach was director of the provincial sanatorium in Münster. From 1883 he was also a member of the royal medical college in Münster.
Gerlach was a member of the Westphalian provincial council and since 1913 a member of the provincial committee. In a by-election on March 22, 1912, he was elected to succeed Georg von Hertling in the Reichstag for the Münster-Coesfeld constituency.
