Henry IX. Reuss to Köstritz (1827–1898)

Henry IX. Prince Reuss zu Köstritz , also Heinrich IX. Prince Reuss j. L. (born March 3, 1827 in Neuhoff near Schmiedeberg ; † August 1, 1898 ibid) was a German administrative officer and officer.

Life

Henry IX. Prince Reuss zu Köstritz was the son of Prince Heinrich LXXIV. Reuss zu Köstritz (1798–1886) and his first wife, Clementine geb. Countess von Reichenbach-Goschütz (1805–1849). He attended high school in Niesky and studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität , Bonn. In 1849 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . He became master of Jänkendorf and Neuhoff. From 1874 to 1894 he was District Administrator of the district Hirschberg in the Giant Mountains . Reuss zu Köstritz was a participant in the Schleswig-Holstein War (1848-1851) , the German-Danish War , the German War and the Franco-German War and was major general à la Suite .

From 1879 to 1882 Reuss was a member of the constituency of Liegnitz 7 (Hirschberg, Schönau) in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the Conservative Party . He was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Silesia. In the Evangelical Church he was a member of the General Synod and Provincial Synod of Silesia. He was married to Anna Freiin von Zedlitz and Leipe (1829–1907).

His son Prince Heinrich XXX. Reuss zu Köstritz (1864–1939), royal Prussian major and battalion commander in the body grenadier regiment "King Friedrich Wilhelm III." And knight of the Order of St. John , was the last owner of Neuhof Palace.
