Prince Heinrich LXXIV. Reuss zu Köstritz (born November 1, 1798 in Braunschweig , † February 22, 1886 in Jänkendorf ) was a German landowner and politician .

Life

As the son of Prince Heinrich XLIV. Reuss zu Köstritz (1753-1832) born, studied Prince Heinrich LXXIV. Reuss zu Köstritz law studies in Heidelberg and Berlin . During his studies in 1818 he became a member of the Old Heidelberg Burschenschaft , of which he was spokesman in 1820.

After completing his studies, he was the landowner of the Neuhoff , Jänkendorf, Kaana and Burkersdorf estates . In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament . He was a lifelong member of the Prussian manor house .

Marriages and offspring

Prince Heinrich LXXIV. Reuss zu Köstritz was married twice:

  1. with Clementine Countess von Reichenbach-Goschütz (1805–1849); the marriage took place in 1825 in Weißstein :
    1. Marie (1826-1843)
    2. Henry IX. (1827–1898), married since 1852 to Anna von Zedlitz and Leipe (1829–1907), with whom he had four sons
  2. with Eleonore zu Stolberg-Wernigerode (1835–1903); the marriage took place in Ilsenburg in 1855 :
    1. Heinrich XXV. (1856–1911), since 1886 married to Elisabeth zu Solms-Laubach (1862–1930), with whom he had six children
    2. Clementine (1858-1929)
    3. Elisabeth (1860–1931), since 1884 married to Prince Heinrich XXIV. Reuss zu Köstritz (1855–1910)
    4. Helene (1864–1876)
    5. Heinrich XXXI. (1868–1929), 1912–1916 German envoy to Iran , 1918–1929 morganatic marriage to Ilse Marie Görges (1892–1938), daughter of Theodor Görges and Ilse Kunheim and widow of Erich Dietsch. Since 1918 Heinrich XXXI called himself. Prince of Hohenleuben .
