Heinrich Juers

Heinrich Jürs (born January 17, 1897 in Altona / Elbe , † April 28, 1945 near Pflach ) was a German SS group leader , lieutenant general of the police and lieutenant general of the Waffen SS .

Life

Jürs took part in the First World War as a soldier and received several awards.

Jürs later made a career in the NSDAP ( membership number 575.102) and SS (SS number 11.362). In his function as SS-Oberführer Juers ran on the nomination of the NSDAP on the list place with the number 419 in the election to the German Reichstag on March 29, 1936, but did not enter the National Socialist Reichstag . At that time he lived in Bremen , Osterdeich 87.

During the Second World War he was appointed SS-Obergruppenführer on June 21, 1943. He worked in the SS main office and was head of office group B. In this role, he was responsible, among other things, for the deployment of Italian military internees . On September 27, 1944 he became division commander of the 29th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS "RONA" (Russian No. 1) and was commissioned to reorganize it within the German protection zone and to manage its operations in central Slovakia. This company had already failed the following month.

Heinrich Jürs was killed in fighting over the Fernpass . His grave is in the Austrian military cemetery in Pflach near Reutte . On the cast plaque of his grave site no. 54, which was renewed in 1994, Heinrich Jürs is referred to as SS private .
